Shonan is depicted in a unique pointillist style with the subject of an evening scene of Shichirigahama beach.
About the technique
Influenced by the pointillism technique advocated by Seurat in the 1880s, this work is both intelligent and coldly mechanical. He began his self-taught pointillism with the fascination of this intellectual, cold, and mechanical expression that, once seen, leaves an unforgettable impression. He juxtaposes acrylic painting materials on the canvas in dots with a fine brush tip without mixing colors, and mixes the colors on the viewer's retina, aiming to create an expression in which the work is completed in the viewer's visual perception. I try to express black (shadow) without using black and (light) without using white.
